Mexico Issues New 200 Peso With RAPID® and ENDURANCE™ Paper

Banco de México has issued the 200 peso, the second denomination of the news series with RAPID® as the primary security feature – and printed on ENDURANCE™, Crane Currency’s durable paper product. The first denomination, the 500 peso, was issued in August 2018.

The new family of banknotes have improved security features and include designs representing Mexico’s historical and natural heritage. The theme of the new series is “Historical identity and natural heritage”, portraying historical scenes of Mexico on the front and national natural heritage sites recognized by UNESCO on the reverse.

The new 200 peso banknote was manufactured by the Printing Works of Banco de México on Crane Currency ENDURANCE paper. Banco de México was an early adopter of Crane Currency’s micro-optic technology having specified four denominations in 2005 which featured MOTION®.
