Crane Currency Tumba Donates Communication Equipment to Sjöräddningssällskapet in Sweden
Crane Currency in Tumba has donated a full set of communication equipment to the voluntary sea rescuing organization in Sweden, Sjöräddningssällskapet. The rescuers depend on robust communication during rough sea operations and the donated equipment will be used all over the country.
– The idea for this donation came up since we have a colleague at Crane serving as a volunteer rescue worker. We are so pleased that our redundant communication equipment can be used for such an important cause as lifesaving at sea, says David Llewellyn, Senior Manager of Security and Resilience at Crane Currency in Tumba.
Sjöräddningssällskapet in Sweden is a non-profit organization that save lives at sea. 2,200 voluntary sea rescuers are on call round the clock, all year round, and participate in approximately 80 percent of all maritime rescue in Sweden.
The organization has 73 rescue stations and more than 230 boats along the entire coast and in the largest lakes. All activities are fully funded by membership fees, gifts and donations.
RAKEL is a robust system for radio communication often used by public protection and disaster relief organizations. The donated equipment from Crane Currency includes a full set of e.g. vehicle radios, handheld terminals, batteries and chargers.
